Physical Fitness Testing
On SEptember 2019, Batavia cadets didn't show up in their battle dress uniforms, or their dress blues. No, this meeting, they showed up ready to work out. It was that once-a-month experience: PT night. Out of the 8 cadets and one visitor that attended. The physical fitness test consists of push ups, sit ups, sit-and-reach, Pacer Run and a mile run. You must pass two out of the first three events listed and one of the last two events listed for your age and grade to pass the test.
Summer Activities
The New York Wing Encampment 2020 is a leadership activity which cadets must attend as an inflight in order to receive their Mitchell award. Any cadet who meets the pre-requisites may return as staff, and senior members attend as staff as well.
The New York Wing Flight Academy is an academy which introduces cadets to either powered aircraft, or to a glider.
A NCSA is a Civil Air Patrol activity that is open on a national level. Most NCSA's have a pre-requisite of having attended an encampment, some have certain grade requirements, age requirements, and most require the cadets to go through a selection process.
Batavia Composite Squadron as a whole is very proud of their members for taking the initiative to apply to these activities, and the cadets and seniors who participated in these activities are glad that they did. Overall, the Batavia members tried their hardest at the various activities, and learned a lot over the course of the summer.
